Chronic Fatigue or Fibromyalgia

Two other related potential contributors to cognitive decline and even dementia are chronic fatigue and Fibromyalgia. Often times these are seen as the same ailment, because those with Fibromyalgia almost always have chronic fatigue as a symptom, while those with Chronic Fatigue, may or may not experience some of the pains typically associated with Fibromyalgia.

But again, almost anything that results in mitochondrial dysfunction, low energy and inflammation, as these do, will likely affect cognition sooner or later, if not remedied.

Here then are two good articles on Chronic Fatigue from Dr. Jocker’s. The first is on 8 top nutritional deficiencies associated with chronic fatigue. Which provides some good insights into treatment options; and the story of how one woman reversed her chronic fatigue by following the “5 Essentials of Maximized Living.”

And this link takes you to the Life Extension protocol for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which contains potential causes, risk factors, and associated symptoms and conditions, as well as various treatment options, dietary, nutritional and Lifestyle considerations, plus some novel and emerging therapies.

Fibromyalgia, once thought by medical docs to be a figment of the female imagination, typically presents in middle-aged women. This is a condition of soft tissue pain, muscular stiffness, unremitting fatigue, disturbed sleep, and cognitive “slowing”, often associated with a variety of additional unexplained symptoms, psychological depression (not helped by the assertion that it was “all in their head,”and impairment of activities of daily living.

Here is the Life Extension protocol for Fibromyalgia, which reviews the symptoms, possible causes, and various treatments and nutrients that have been shown to be helpful, as well as new or emerging therapies.

And here is a colorful and insightful article by Dr. Jocker’s on Fibromyalgia, which once again reviews the symptoms, causes, and natural support strategies that may be helpful in arresting or overcoming this tricky, debilitating disorder.

If you suspect any other autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and other autoimmune disorders, you may want to do a search on these two sites for any of those words or simply “autoimmune”. Lots of good hopeful insights here.

If you have any chronic fatigue or energy issues, with or without pain, you may want to take some notes as you go through these to see how both articles agree on each topic, and how they differ in their approaches. But we think you will agree that if you have  symptoms of either of these disorders, there is a lot of good info here to discuss with your doctor or providers.
