Fluoride

Calcium Fluoride is a naturally occurring element that has been shown to reduce tooth decay in some children.  The problem however, is that some forms of fluoride, especially Hydrofluorosilicic acid, used in drinking water, may have traces of other substances such as arsenic and lead, and may result in damage to other body parts like the thyroid, the penial gland, bones and the brain. It’s been implicated as a factor in the reduced  IQ of infants born to women in fluoridated cities, and some seniors showing symptoms of Alzheimer’s, especially those with thyroid and pineal gland problems.

Various studies have found that too much fluoride over time may reduce an enzyme in the brain called AChE (acetylcholinesterase), which plays an important role in controlling acetylcholine (Ach), the neurotransmitter of memories, thus enabling us to focus, concentrate, and learn new things. A lack of AChE and too much ACh can increase levels of stress, anxiety, insomnia, and eventually mental fatigue, confusion and depression. If you have read through the Brain Essential Steps above (especially Steps 3, 4 & 5), or the article on ADHD, you will recognize the adverse impact this imbalance can have on the brain. There are a lot of conflicting opinions in this field but one thing all researchers are agreed on is the sooner individuals begin learning and taking steps to improve their brain health the easier and less expensive it will be.
